Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Cosmic BudgetTM("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
Description of Service
Cosmic Budget is a personal finance and budgeting application that helps you track expenses, manage budgets, and analyze spending patterns. The Service includes:
- Bank account connection and transaction syncing via Plaid
- Budget creation and tracking
- Receipt scanning and itemization
- Financial goal tracking
- Household sharing features
- AI-powered insights and categorization
Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Household Sharing
The Service allows you to invite other users to your household. By inviting someone:
- You grant them access to view and manage shared financial data
- You are responsible for who you invite
- Household owners can remove members at any time
- Members can leave a household at any time
Financial Data and Third-Party Services
The Service connects to your financial institutions through Plaid. By using this feature:
- You authorize Plaid to access financial account information you choose to share
- You agree to Plaid's applicable terms and privacy disclosures
- You understand that we receive account and transaction data, not your bank login credentials
- You can disconnect your accounts at any time
The Service is not a financial advisor. We provide tools for tracking and visualization, not financial advice. Always consult a qualified professional for financial decisions.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Share your account credentials with others
Subscription and Payment
Some features of the Service may require a paid subscription. By subscribing:
- You agree to pay the applicable fees
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- You can cancel at any time through your account settings
- Refunds are provided in accordance with our refund policy
Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Cosmic Budget and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our permission.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY OF DATA FROM THIRD-PARTY SERVICES LIKE PLAID.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COSMIC BUDGET SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, unless applicable law requires a different venue.
